Smaller-footprint rotating storage for cables, umbilicals and short batches. Featured build: 1,000 MT Modular Turntable.
Turntables provide a more compact alternative to full carousels for shorter cable lengths, repair spreads and umbilical batching. Available in fixed-axis and gimballed variants for vessel motion compensation.
FEA structural optimisation, full-spread system render and shop-floor structural assembly of the 1,000 MT Modular Turntable.
Engineering imagery from the 1,000 MT Modular Turntable build — FEA performed in-house for design optimisation, shop assembly photographed at the Dimension fabrication yard, and full-system render showing the carousel paired with a containerised loading arm.
Container-mobilisable umbilical and cable turntable, upgradeable beyond 1,000 MT, with full FEA-validated radial structural design.
Modular umbilical & cable turntable · DP1 cable-laying duty · 2 × 55 kW VFD · 40-ft container mobilisable · 48-hour commissioning
The Modular Turntable is one of Dimension Consultants' core products — an umbilical and cable turntable system with a capacity of up to 1,000 MT (upgradeable). The modular system provides a fast, reliable and safe solution for one of the most challenging tasks in subsea operations. The unit can be operated with the cable tank directly for quick mobilisation. Engineered to be modular and flexible such that it can be quickly mobilised in 40-ft containers to a multitude of vessels including PSVs, work barges and pipe-lay vessels, and operate in harsh environments at both shallow and ultra-deep-water depths. Alternatively, the system can be set up and operated on shore. Comprising 2 powerful 55 kW motors, the system can quickly accelerate to its top speed of up to 1 rpm. The carousel is composed of smaller units, each of which can be easily disassembled for transportation; the entire package — including controls, motors and loading arm — is shipped together. Connections are designed for easy field access with provisions for minor in-field tweaking; electrical connections are all quick-connect sockets, and the entire system can be mobilised and commissioned in 48 hours.
