200 MT Vertical Lay System integrated on a Dimension cable-lay vessel — VLS tower, jib crane, carousel and full lay-spread on deck
Lay System

Vertical Lay Systems (VLS)

200 MT Modular Twin-Tensioner Vertical Flexlay Tower — featured build for deepwater flexible & cable installation.

Overview

Vertical Lay Systems (VLS)

200 MT-rated modular twin-tensioner Vertical Flexlay Tower engineered by Dimension for deepwater flexible, umbilical and submarine cable installation — twin 100 MT, four-track, 5 m contact-length tensioners stacked in a 28 m tower over a 10 m arc.

  • Twin 100 MT tensioners — four-track each, 5 m contact length, stacked for redundancy and combined 200 MT continuous-tension capability.
  • Modular tower platform — 28 m height, 10 m arc diameter (R 5000 mm), bolt-up sections for fast vessel-of-opportunity mobilisation.
  • ABS / LRS class delivery with integrated A&R, hang-off, work platforms, top jib crane and full automation/HMI-driven sequencing.

Key Features

  • Twin 100 MT four-track tensioners — 5 m contact length each, summed 200 MT line pull
  • 28 m tower with 10 m arc diameter (R 5000 mm) — ABS / LRS class
  • Modular bolt-up tower extensions for vessel-of-opportunity mobilisation
  • Three operating decks at 5.7 m, 13.7 m and 21.9 m elevations with full work platforms and access stairs
  • Top-mounted jib crane for product handling and equipment lifts
  • Integrated abandonment-and-recovery (A&R) system, redundant hang-off
  • Optional active heave compensation (± 2.5 m) for extended weather windows
  • Suitable for cables, umbilicals and flexible pipe — moonpool, stern or over-the-side
  • Full automation with HMI-driven sequencing and PLC interlocks
