The Challenge

South Korea's First Fully CPS Q&A-Frame — Built in 9 Months

For LS Marine Solution, design, build and operate South Korea's first fully CPS-deployment quadrant and A-frame system, plus a 10 m-burial Vertical Injector — all inside a 9-month window that also had to absorb full cable-lay system mobilisation and a retractable-thruster upgrade on the lay vessel. New equipment, new vessel configuration, and offshore execution on the 99 MW Jeonnam wind farm — concept to last splice.

  • 01First-of-Kind in KoreaKorea's first fully CPS-deployment Quadrant + A-frame system — designed, built and operated by Dimension for LSMS.
  • 0210 m Vertical InjectorIn-house Vertical Injector engineered for 10 m cable burial — the deepest VI burial in the Dimension fleet.
  • 039-Month WindowConcept, fabrication, FAT, mobilisation and offshore operations sequenced inside nine months end-to-end.
  • 04Retractable ThrustersCable-lay system mobilisation paired with a thruster upgrade to retractable mode for shallow-water access.

Overview

JN1 Offshore Wind

For the JN1 Offshore Wind Project in Jeonnam, Korea, Dimension delivered a complete turnkey solution covering engineering, project management and offshore operations. The team pioneered the design of a custom Vertical Injector (VI) for efficient cable burial and executed a seamless shore-end pull-in combined with simultaneous cable laying.

Each export cable operation featured a 600 m float-out, precise barge beaching at KP 0.6, and nearshore vessel manoeuvring using advanced mooring patterns. Leveraging the in-house VI, Dimension achieved an impressive burial depth of up to 9–10 m — setting new standards for reliability and performance.
