Carousel Capacity

4,000 MT Combined Fibre & Carousel Suitable Conversion

24.0 m gives a 20.5 m carousel below deck: ≈3,500 t of fibre-optic cable, or ≈2,500 t of power cable on the same machine — with spare tanks adding a further ≈600 t of fibre-optic capacity, for ≈4,000 t combined. Every item of the fibre-optic mission spread is new, with full 3.5 m ploughing capability to meet deep burial challenges.

An all-new mission spread — burial ROV, DOHB, stern sheaves and MD3-XT plough with full 3.5 m trench depth for deep burial challenges, all new and supplied through Dimension's vendor partners.
15,480 kW installed — four Rolls-Royce B32:40 generators, with a substantial power surplus once the existing mission plant is removed.

The Conversion

Retained & New

Dimension delivers this as a turnkey conversion — engineered in-house and executed through partner shipyards, with leading vendor support across the carousel and cable-handling spread. The existing equipment comes out, releasing around 900 t of lightweight. The carousel goes in below deck in place of the main hold, with the surrounding spaces reworked as cable machinery, test and termination, and jointing. The thruster package is the largest single item of new work.

RRetained — Hull, four-generator plant, accommodation for 69, ballast and fresh water systems.
NNew (≈1,260 t) — Carousel, cable machinery and spread, plough spread, ROV and LARS, stern thruster, retractable azimuth, DP2, ESS.
TTimeline — 12–14 months, subject to equipment lead times.
